pet education

PET EDUCATION
1. Grocery store food for pets is like you eating McDonalds every day.  There are so many fillers, and fat in those foods.  Later in life, when your pet gets arthritis, diabetes, and dies a long death.... Its because of the effects of poor nutrition.  Use preventive care and it will pay off later.  Good foods are ones from Pet Supermarket, and your vets office.

2.  Vaccinations do not harm your pet, and are not made from pesticides, they are needed even for indoor animals, they are made to boost your animals immune system.  If you can't afford them, don't have animals.  Somebody else could give them better care.

2b. Heartworm tests and fecal tests yearly are necessary to make sure your animal does not have parasites.  Certain types of worms can be transmitting to people!!! Stray "cute" animals can make your family sick.  Hookworms and roundworms are SO COMMON in outdoor animals.  They cause diarrhea, vomiting, and lethargy in people.  So just make sure that is something you are okay with if you don't take your animal to a vet!

3. Flee and tick preventive are needed in all parts of our country and not the stuff from Walmart.  Heartguard, Interceptor, Advantix..... all good stuff.

4.  ANIMALS HAVE TEETH! They needed to be brushed, "dog breath" IS NOT NORMAL!!!!! It means your dogs teeth are not taken care of! You either need to brush them every morning like your own, or get dental cleanings every year.  Or use a water additive, like fluoride for animals you can get it at your vet's office.

...... I only share all this because every single day I see these ridiculous people that aren't educated about there animals, and I was one of them.  To this day, I have an outdoor cat at my moms house that has God only knows what, and is completely unvaccinated.  I never knew how important that was, and when I am home I will take care of that.  But for the time being, don't be a slacker and take care of your pets, they are just like kids and care about you just a much.

And I want everyone who reads this blog to never say nobody ever told me.

Finally a post from the leah

Life has been pretty busy lately.  Heres some updates.

Brent
He went back to Panera Bread part time at night so we could save money to come back to PA.  He works about 15-20 hours a week there, and full time at Macys everyday from 7-3:15.  So he is working super hard so we can save money. He is also applying to McDaniel College for the fall semester, so if it works out he will go there in the fall.  If not he will take more courses at a community college until he can transfer in.  He decided to write his admissions essay on how being married young will add diversity to the college, based on the things that he knows that traditional college students wouldn't.  Like how to be independent, do your own bills, work hard, and understand the concept of money.  I am excited to see how it will turn out.  Brent also pulled himself out of bed this morning at 3 am for Black Friday.

Leah
My McDaniel advisor and I have been corresponding back and forth on my re-admission into school.  When I went there in the Fall 07' semester things didn't go so well, I was trying to do to much at one time, and my grades reflected my neglect at school.  They said that if I can pull at least a 3.5 this semester at a community college, there are good odds to be being re-admitted.  If not I will just take classes at HACC until they let me back in.  I know its weird that I am so set on this school, but I just know its a great school.  The teachers there just expect more, they want you to think deeper, and they know when you write a paper in 5 minutes.  They want you to be diverse in the world, so you aren't just educated in your degree, but you are honestly EDUCATED. Really educated, in multicultural aspects, language, race, everything.  So I am completely ready to be back on track with school.  I am still working at the vets office and learning more things each day.

Sam
Is still working her 2 jobs, and shopping for school stuff. I took her for her first Black Friday experience this morning.  She bought presents for her family and jeans for school, and some other cute stuff.  She is heading back home on the 15th and then goes to college in Idaho on January 3rd.  She is very excited.

Carly(kitty)
Carly has discovered the Christmas tree, she thinks that I bought her a 6ft jungle gym.... Needless to say the bottom half of our tree has no decorations because they are disbursed throughout the house by her.  Behind every door is a Christmas bulb. And she discovered that she likes the way it sounds when you walk across a key board.  And unlike most cats, she comes with us on daily outings and when we go to pick up Brent at night from work, she always comes along.  She likes looking out the window.

And thats all today!
love you miss you peace angelia

life

So here is the dealyo
Basically lately has been really crazy, and we have been really homesick/its cold here/we are having a lot of complications with school. So we decided that coming back to Pa would be a good answer to the problem because we could get instate tuition and things are so much cheaper there. We went and talked to our leasing guy and he said that it costs 250 dollars to get out of our lease, so we were like making plans and stuff. Then we went and talked to the property manager and she said that it really costs 3600 DOLLARS TO GET OUT OF OUR LEASE. Needless to say, the only way to get out of our lease is to find somebody to take over our lease, so for now we are stuck. But we put up signs for our apartment and its on the net and stuff. So thats life. But, its not that we don't like it down here. Its just that things are getting really hard, and money is SUPER tight so we wanted to go back to where everything is so cheap. But needless to say, that might take longer than expected. So for now, our goal is to go to McDaniel back in Westminster in the fall, and try to take some classes at PBCC for the spring, which is a lot harder than you would think...... Our lease is up in July, if we can't find somebody before then and we will be on our way home. Its not that we are miserable, it would just make being a student a lot more possible in PA. And we miss a lot of people. But anywho, Brents mom/dad/brother are coming into town as we speak. They are n there way down from the Orlando area(where Matt goes to school and they are almost here). So yeah, for Halloween Brent, Sam, and I watched scary movies and ate pizza/ate candy for fun. So we had fun, and are excited about this weekend. YAY
love you miss you peace.an gelia.
